What will AGI do for Upstream Lignin Carryover?
In chemical pulping and biorefining operations, upstream lignin carryover occurs when the digester and brown stock washing stages fail to remove sufficient lignin from the wood fibers. Mill operators and bleaching plant supervisors bear the brunt of this inefficiency, receiving pulp with an unpredictably high kappa number. This variability forces facilities to overcompensate with expensive bleaching chemicals to maintain target product brightness levels.
